Shane Black‘s The Predator is currently shooting in Vancouver, and it is steadily adding more and more cast members as filming continues. The latest announcement is definitely cause for excitement, seeing as how Edward James Olmos has been confirmed to be joining the cast as “a military character”, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He joins an already stellar cast consisting of Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen, Yvonne Strahovski, Olivia Munn, Augusto Aguilera and Jake Busey.
Olmos is known by genre fans for his work on Blade Runner, Battlestar Galactica, Dexter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He was also recently confirmed to be reprising his Blade Runner role in the sequel later this year. THR’s report makes it seem that his role in The Predator will either be the commander of the mission to take on the titular hunter or a high-ranking officer in opposition to it, possibly running his own op similar to Gary Busey‘s character in Predator 2. He will next be seen appearing in the pilot for FX’s Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans MC.
The Predator is scheduled to premiere February 9, 2018.
